QUIBIM PRECISION

QUIBIM Precision® is an image processing software package to be used by trained professionals including but not limited to physicians and medical technicians. The software runs in the browser of a standard “off-the-shelf” computer and can be used to perform image viewing, processing and analysis of medical images. Data and images are acquired through DICOM compliant imaging devices and modalities.

  • Brain volumetry with parcellation module allows to calculate the volume of Gray Matter, White Matter, CerebroSpinal Fluid (CSF) and their distribution in different regions, as well as the Brain Parenchyma Fraction (BPF) from MR imaging.

  • Liver Fat & Iron Concentration module allows the simultaneous quantification of fat and iron deposits in liver with the use of mathematical modelling of the MR signal without confounding effects and taking into consideration the heterogeneous distribution of deposits. Fat and iron deposits are calculated voxelwise and parametric images from the whole liver parenchyma are provided.

  • Trabecular Bone Morphometry and Mechanical analysis module allows to calculate morphology, irregularity and mechanical resistance properties from Magnetic Resonance (MR) or Computerized Tomography (CT) more complete characterization of the Trabecular Bone, by analyzing bone volume percentage (BV/TV), trabecular thickness (Tb.Th) and separation (Tb.Sp), fractal dimension (D2D/D3D), and elasticity modulus (Ex,y,z). This module can also be applied on a 2D image acquired in X-ray equipment, by analyzing trabecular characteristics on a single plane.

  • Perfusion Pharmacokinetics module calculates different parameters related to the vascular environment of the tissue which are based on the quantitative pharmacokinetic assessment of Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Images (DCE-MRI). The transfer constant (Ktrans), extraction rate (kep) and extra-vascular and extra-cellular volumes (ve) are given in order to evaluate neovascularization processes in tissues and tumor angiogenesis. Curve descriptors parameters: Initial Area Under Curve of Contrast at 60 seconds (IAUC60), Initial Slope (IS), Contrast Peak (Peak) and Time-To-Peak (TTP)), are also derived from MR perfusion series.

  • Diffusion module calculates the water molecules diffusivity in tissues, allowing to detect fast water molecules diffusivity from slow water molecules diffusivity. This method is aimed to provide relevant information on tissue cellularity and the integrity of cell membranes. The Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC), diffusion coefficient (D), pseudo-diffusion coefficient (D*), vascular fraction (f), non-gaussian diffusion coefficient (DDKI) and Kurtosis coefficient (K) are provided.

  • Relaxometry measurements for T1 and T2 parameters calculation and generation of parametric maps are also integrated in modules to calculate the parameters related to the MR longitudinal and transversal relaxation time.

  • Lung Emphysema and Lung Low Functional Density modules allow to calculate lung morphological features, including anatomical and pathologic volumes such as: lung parenchyma volumes, emphysema volumes, Low Functional Lung Densities (LFLD) and blood vessels volumes from CT imaging. All the quantitative information is given in absolute and relative values respect to lung volumes, and differentiated in right and left lung also taking into account the third differentiation of the measurements in upper, middle and lower lung third.
